CHARITY THE COMMITMENT TO MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT BEYOND THE TENNIS COURT

Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa returned to New York, where she lived until the age of seven, to inspire young people through the Kings County Tennis League (KCTL). This program, supported by Laureus, uses tennis and educational activities to improve the lives of Brooklyn children, removing barriers and promoting personal development. Badosa shared his experience of perseverance with the youth, highlighting the power of sport to bring about change. KCTL, part of Laureus' Sport for Good Cities initiative, works to bring access to sport and opportunity to communities in New York and beyond.

The Tennis Rwanda Children's Foundation (TRCF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to introducing tennis to vulnerable children in Rwanda. Its mission is to create opportunities for personal and social development through sport. By facilitating access to tennis in schools, refugee camps and low-income communities, TRCF promotes the physical and psychological well-being of young people.
The foundation operates with a holistic approach, offering not only sports coaching but also life skills development, with the goal of empowering the next generation. Their programs have reached over 1,500 children, and they plan to continue expanding with more coaches and tennis facilities throughout Rwanda. TRCF works with international partners and volunteers to provide quality training and support, removing financial and logistical barriers that limit access to the sport.

Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona

One of the most meaningful experiences for Paula has been visiting the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, where she spends time with children battling serious illnesses. Paula loves bringing joy to these little ones by sharing her passion for tennis. During her visits, she brings racquets, balls and other tennis supplies, helping the children explore the sport and lift their spirits. These moments hold a very special place in Paula's heart, as she believes in the power of connection, positivity and happiness that tennis can bring, especially to those facing great challenges.
